Adrian Hyde Acupuncture

Hi!

My journey towards Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture began in 2014 when I first was drawn to its theory of an integrated approach to treating imbalances within ourselves. That path, like most paths in our lives, took some turns as I launched a food business (Holo Kombucha) and undertook Yoga Teacher training. I kept coming back to Chinese Medicine, intrigued by its concepts couched in ancient language for over 2,000 years but which had survived the real test of any healing modality – time.

I am a member of the Acupuncture Council of Ireland and fully insured.

It always interested me that despite its ancient philosophy and theory, much of Chinese Medical Theory had a strong resonance to current research theory. Concepts that our emotions, trauma, lifestyle, the type of foods we eat, work, stress, anxiety, social interactions, living and work environments, have been understood and written about for thousands of years in ancient classical texts and yet it’s only now that we are beginning to understand in the West how our ‘health’ is not just a physical concept but is very much wrapped up in how we feel. ‘Wellness’ – that illusive idea of how we feel in ourselves, is as much health as our physical body and when we don’t feel well, whether emotionally, physically or spiritually, we can develop an imbalance in our lives that goes on to become what we call an illness.

Eventually, I found the time to train in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. I undertook an intensive course at the White Lotus College of Ireland which was very much rooted in teaching the traditions and ethos of Chinese Medicine. I was attracted to the college because of its insistence on using traditional Chinese terminology, theory and point names and there was a busy student clinic in the final year.

It was in the final year that I came to understand that learning would never really stop. That acupuncture is a life long endeavor where there is always more to be learned, practiced, refined and applied.

I am committed to doing the very best I can for everyone that entrusts me. If you’d like to learn more about how I approach each treatment and what it looks like, please click here.
